Έπαιξε ρόλο και η ιστορία και η δυναμική του Ηρακλή

Λίγες μέρες μετά την δικαίωση του Ηρακλή από την CEV και την θετική για το μέλλον του στην Ευρώπη απόφαση, ο πρόεδρος της ΕΟΠΕ, Στέλιος Προσαλίκας, μίλησε στο Libero 107.4 FM.

Αναφερόμενος στην απόφαση, ανέφερε αρχικά: «Ήταν μια απόφαση που ήταν ευχάριστη για το ελληνικό βόλεϊ, ο Ηρακλής είναι μια από τις μεγάλες δυνάμεις άλλωστε. Έγινε από την αρχή μια προσπάθεια βήμα βήμα για να συμβεί αυτό, δέχθηκα αρχικά την πρόσκληση από τον κ. Αδαμίδη, συνεργαστήκαμε σωστά και τελικά όλα πήγαν καλά. Κάναμε σωστές και λογικές κινήσεις και πετύχαμε τον στόχο μας. Σημαντικός ήταν ο ρόλος του γερμανικού δικηγορικού γραφείου, εξειδικευμένου σε τέτοιες περιπτώσεις. Είχε μάλιστα ένα δικηγόρο υψηλής κλάσης και Έλληνα, τον κ. Ανδρέα Ζαγκλή και έγιναν όλα τα υπομνήματα με σωστό τρόπο. Ήταν μια πολύ καλή συνεργασία, ουσιαστική, χωρίς τυμπανοκρουσίες και πρέπει να εξάρω και την στάση του κ. Αδαμίδη αλλά και της Λέσχης Φίλων Βόλεϊ Ηρακλή. Όλοι έκαναν ότι καλύτερο μπορούσαν και έτσι τώρα ο Ηρακλής μπορεί να συνεχίσει να αγωνίζεται στα κύπελλα Ευρώπης από την επόμενη χρονιά».

Ερωτηθείς για το αν έπαιξε ρόλο το όνομα και η ιστορία του Ηρακλή στην τελική απόφαση, τόνισε: «Έπαιξε σίγουρα ρόλο και η ιστορία και η δυναμική του Ηρακλή, είναι μεγάλη η προσφορά και η παρουσία του Ηρακλή και στο ευρωπαϊκό βόλεϊ, είναι όνομα ο Ηρακλής, δεν είναι τυχαία ομάδα. Το εκμεταλλευτήκαμε αυτό αλλά φυσικά δεν έφτανε από μόνο του, υπερίσχυσαν οι λογικές κινήσεις που έγιναν και όχι τα συνθήματα. Παλέψαμε και πετύχαμε τον στόχο μας, έτσι ο Ηρακλής τιμωρήθηκε τελικά με 1 αγωνιστική κεκλεισμένων των θυρών και 5.000 ευρώ πρόστιμο. Τέλος καλό, όλα καλά».

Όσον αφορά την καθυστέρηση των play-off και την επίπτωση που θα έχει αυτό στην Εθνική ομάδα, σχολίασε ως εξής: «Θα είναι καταστροφικό για την Εθνική ομάδα να καθυστερήσουν κι άλλο τα play-off, έχουμε κάνει μήνες τώρα μια προεργασία και πάμε δυστυχώς πίσω έτσι όπως δείχνει το πράγμα. Επίσης εκτός από τους Έλληνες παίκτες, έχουν και οι ξένοι παίκτες υποχρεώσεις με τις Εθνικές τους ομάδες. Νομίζω λοιπόν ότι πρέπει να βγει το πρόγραμμα των play-off με βάση την πρωτόδικη απόφαση. Τα προβλήματα είναι αρκετά τώρα, υπάρχει ο κίνδυνος να μην βγει καν πρωταθλητής φέτος και να γίνει μπάχαλο το πρωτάθλημα, επίσης θα πρέπει η λίγκα του βόλεϊ να προασπίσει τα συμφέροντα της και να μην πάει στράφι η προσπάθεια της, αν π.χ. αποχωρήσουν για τις Εθνικές τους ομάδες οι παίκτες, τέλος η Εθνική έχει προγραμματισμένα παιχνίδια να δώσει και πρέπει να αρχίσει προετοιμασία για να είναι έτοιμη. Για όλα αυτά λοιπόν πιστεύω ότι πρέπει να βγει γρήγορα πρόγραμμα για τα play-off, με βάση φυσικά την πρωτόδικη απόφαση, αυτό σίγουρα θα αφήσει την ομάδα που δεν θα δικαιωθεί αύριο με ένα αίσθημα αδικίας αλλά άποψη μου είναι πως πρέπει να τελειώσουν όλα γρήγορα, δεν πρέπει να έχουμε άλλες καθυστερήσεις και να περιμένουμε στην συνέχεια το ΑΣΕΑΔ».

ΤΣΑΜΠΙΟΝΣ ΛΙΓΚ ΑΝΔΡΩΝ: Η CEV ανέβαλε το Φάιναλ φορ

Το Φάιναλ-4 του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ ανδρών, που επρόκειτο να αρχίσει το Σάββατο στο Λοτζ της Πολωνίας, αναβλήθηκε με απόφαση της CEV. Η διοργανώτρια αρχή πήρε τη συγκεκριμένη απόφαση, επειδή στη χώρα κηρύχθηκε πένθος μιας εβδομάδας για να τιμηθούν τα θύματα της αεροπορικής τραγωδίας στο Σμόλενσκ της Ρωσίας, όπου έχασε τη ζωή του και ο πρόεδρος της Πολωνίας, Λεχ Κατσίνσκι, αλλά και άλλοι αξιωματούχοι του κράτους. Η CEV θα κοινοποιήσει τις επόμενες ημέρες τη νέα ημερομηνία διεξαγωγής της τελικής φάσης του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ ανδρών.

Volleyball fever in Poland, Lodz ready to welcome real highlight of the season

A very exciting weekend is coming up in less than 24 hours as the real European Volleyball elite is ready to fire up a “hot” ambiance in the marvelous Atlas Arena here in Lodz for the final four of the 2009/2010 CEV Indesit Champions League. The hosts of PGE Skra BELCHATOW will try to delight the massive home audience – the competition hall is totally sold out since many weeks - with some stellar actions, starting with the semifinal match against Russia’s Dinamo MOSCOW. On the other hand, TRENTINO BetClic will try to extend its stellar winning streak, doubling up the great success of last year in Prague that was followed a few months later by an additional crown at the FIVB Club World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The captains and coaches of all four participating teams had the chance to discuss their expectations and goals together with the media this morning as a special press conference was organized at the Hotel Focus here in Lodz. To back up once again the tremendous popularity of Volleyball in Poland, two broadcasting companies aired this event live, so a real fever is currently mounting in this country with tons of fans hoping that BELCHATOW will not miss the chance to pick up the trophy at home.
However, this won’t be an easy mission. Bulgarian superstar and TRENTINO’s captain Matey Kaziyski is very much looking forward to the start of the competition: “We came here being well aware that the best European teams qualified for this final four, but certainly we are targeting a great performance and our aim is to confirm our victory from last year in Prague”. His mentor Radostin Stoytchev added: “Although we are considered, by many experts and journalists, the real favorite of the event, still this does not really count. We have to show on the court what we are capable of, express our full potential and then we may celebrate another great feat for our club”.
The Italians will play the real sensation of this year’s Champions League in the second semifinal, i.e. Slovenia’s ACH Volley BLED. Coach Glenn Hoag shared his feelings and said: “I see this final four as a very precious learning opportunity for my young team. We already caused some major upsets during the previous stages of the competition and we came to Poland to try to perform again at our best”.
The Polish hopes will be carried by PGE Skra, whose roster includes many players that seized gold at last year’s European Championships in Turkey, such as Bartosz Kurek and many more. However, their semifinal against Dinamo MOSCOW is expected to be a real fight. Russian mentor and former Volleyball star Yuri Cherednik says: “As I took over this position, my main concern was to create the right team spirit. I have players that are extremely skilled and know everything about Volleyball, so I had to work more on their psychology than on the technique. I feel we are ready to compete with the best teams in the world”.
CEV Vice President and ECC President Riet Ooms asserted the real pleasure for the European Volleyball Confederation to stage this event in a country that is more than fond of Volleyball and added: “I am more than convinced that this weekend will be an absolute success, not simply for CEV and for the local organizers, but also for Volleyball as a sport. The images we’ll be airing from Lodz are the best promotion for our sport across the Continent and even elsewhere”.
The final four will be indeed broadcast in many extra European countries, thus confirming that this is a truly major event even beyond Volleyball in itself. Πρόστιμο 5.000 ευρώ στον Ηρακλή

Με συντονισμένες ενέργειες της ΕΟΠΕ και του Ηρακλή, οργανώθηκε η νομική και πολιτική υποστήριξη του συλλόγου, κι αυτό είχε ως αποτέλεσμα την ουσιαστική αθώωση του. Ο Ηρακλής δεν θα τιμωρηθεί τελικά από τη CEV με ένα χρόνο αποκλεισμό από τα ευρωπαϊκά κύπελλα, αλλά με πρόστιμο 5000 ευρώ και  τιμωρία της έδρας του για ένα ματς χωρίς θεατές. Όλα τα εντός έδρας παιχνίδια θα γίνονται πλέον παρουσία ουδέτερου παρατηρητή και θα λαμβάνονται πρόσθετα μέτρα που θα εξασφαλίζουν την ομαλή διεξαγωγή τους. Σε περίπτωση υποτροπής η CEV απειλεί με εξοντωτική ποινή.
Ο αντιπρόεδρος του Ηρακλή, Τάσος Αδαμίδης δήλωσε: «ευχαριστούμε τον κύριο Προσαλίκα που βοήθησε απίστευτα στην αθώωση  του Ηρακλή και τη συμμετοχή του  στα ευρωπαϊκά κύπελλα».

Swiss ladies score important home victory,

Host Switzerland clinched an important victory tonight at the 2nd Round Qualifier for the 2010 CEV Women’s Junior European Championship being currently played in Basel. The young Swiss ladies overcame Portugal in a thrilling five-setter to delight 600 cheering fans and supporters. The Netherlands (in straight sets against Spain) as well as Germany (with a 3:0 win versus Bulgaria) booked their second win here in Switzerland.
In front of 600 enchanted spectators at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland overpowered Portugal in an epic match 3:2 (25-22, 21-25, 24-26, 25-23, 15-7). Even if the Swiss team experienced many ups and downs during this hard fought duel, the players of head coach Florian Steingruber kept cool in the hottest moment of the game, especially at the end of the fourth set. Laura Unternahrer led the Swiss with 24 points, whilst Portuguese Falcao booked 19 kills for the South Europeans.
In today’s first encounter, the Netherlands continued riding their wave of success by outclassing Spain in straight sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-18). After their convincing win yesterday versus Portugal, the Dutch managed to keep the pressure high against Spain. The Spaniards made some good work in the first set, but lost their determination in the second and third set. Best scorer for the Netherlands was Yvon Belien with 11 points. Maria Segura and Jessica Rivero scored 13 points each for Spain.
Later in the afternoon Germany experienced a quite easy win versus Bulgaria (25-17, 27-25, 25-15). The Germans controlled almost all aspects of the game, especially in set No. 1 and 3. In the second set of today’s last match, Germany led 24-20, but the Bulgarians bounced back to 24-all. However, the team of head coach Han Abbing found a way to escape from this critical situation with some good net actions (27-25). The last set was again a one-way action with Sina Fuchs scoring 14 points in total. Bulgarian Ralitsa Vasileva led her team with 7 kills.

Critical situation in Beach Volleyball

This past weekend, during its session held in Cannes, the CEV Executive Committee was forced to ascertain with real regret the extremely critical circumstances currently affecting the 2010 Beach Volleyball season, with partner and promoter GSM – Global Sports Marketing (whose emerald brand has been associated to many success stories in the past few years) being no longer able to fulfill its contractual obligations towards athletes, National Federations and CEV.
“In spite of the many actions we have been undertaking vying for a reconcilement of our positions, we are unfortunately obliged to state that GSM has been steadily failing to fulfill the conditions we had once agreed upon. After having taken notice that GSM did not comply with several conditions listed in our agreement, the European Volleyball Confederation is hence ready to make a clear statement for the benefits of all parties concerned” says CEV President André Meyer.
The CEV Executive Committee listed indeed a series of facts that have been hampering the interaction with GSM over the last months and namely:
- even though CEV has been insisting, since July 2009 and more intensively since last October, on the absolute necessity to pay the prize money still due to the athletes for the 2009 season, this recommendation was not followed up by GSM, thus causing some real damages to the reputation and the overall image of the European Championship Tour towards the players and their respective National Federations;
- since September 2009 CEV has been repeatedly asking for a detailed proposal to be worked out for the 2010 season; as the CEV Board of Administration resumed this past January 30 to The Hague (NED), only a very provisional draft was penciled in and provided by GSM, including 3 tournaments plus a Masters Final to be played in Sochi (Russia); moreover, for all these tournaments – with the only exception being Russia - GSM did not yet finalize any agreement with the local organizers and the National Federations concerned, with venues and dates still far to be confirmed also for the eventual alternatives (Turkey and Switzerland); as a result of these delays and troubles, at this date CEV still lacks of a real calendar for the 2010 season;
- additional debts still owed to some National Federations (for the 2008 and 2009 season) as well as to CEV (for the 2009 ECT) are still to be paid.
Taking into consideration the above mentioned facts and the persistent difficulties for GSM to comply with the conditions previously agreed upon, the CEV Executive Committee has hence decided to submit to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) a detailed dossier about this case.
