Greek Finals: Finikas won the third game against Iraklis


The home team of Finikas won 3-2 (16-25, 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 15-12) in the third battle of Greek Finals. The local teams fans created a great atmosphere and helped their team succeed their first win in the finals. Dokic and Gortzianouk were the best players of Finikas team.
The fourth game will take place again in Syros on Wednesday the 25th of April. Iraklis Thessalonikis had two wins as home team and still hoping to take the championship as soon as possible. If Syros managed to get Wednesday’s game the fifth and last game is scheduled for Saturday the 28th of April.
Pamvohaikos finally take the third place in Volleyleague by winning Olympiakos in Greek play-off round.

Finikas from the A2 league to the championship finals

Finikas Sirou will play in the finals of Greek Volleyleague after his historic win against Olympiakos.
Siros team managed to win Olympiakos for a second game in a row.  Finikas is the first team in Volleyleague's history which succeeds to participate in the finals although the previous year was playing in the A2 championship.
The first game took place in Siros the previous Sunday and the local team easily won 3-0. On Wednesday’s game Finikas team won 1-3 (25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 23-25) having Lappas and Dokic in a great day.
In the other battle Iraklis and Pamvohaikos will have to play a third game in Thessaloniki next Tuesday because both of them won in the tie-break playing as home teams.
It is not clear yet which team will follow Apollon Kalamarias in A2 League. It must be a battle between Panathinaikos and EAPatron but lots of sport managers in cooperation with corrupted politician will try to influence volleyleague's future by preventing Panathinaiko's relegation.

Pamvohaikos great victory against Iraklis


Pamvoahaikos managed to win 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 29-27, 25-20) Iraklis on Friday’s game. Although losing the first set Vrahati’s team grabbed the chance of Rolando Despaigne absence and finaly won the game. For Pamvohaikos the American diagonal Mark Dusharme scored 18 points and the MVP of the game Jernej Potoncnik 22.
Olympiakos easily won 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-18) Kifisia 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 having Jimenez in a great day. 

Panathinaikos has only mathematical possibilities to stay in Volleyleague after his lose 3-1 (26-24, 26-28, 25-20, 25-17) in Alexandroupoli. For the local team Gonzalez was the leader for the local team scoring 21 points.

Finikas Syrou defeated Aris Thessalonikis 3-0 (30-28, 25-23, 25-20) in very hard game. Aris team had many complains of referee decision especially in the first set.
Only in the game between PAOK and Lamia there was a tie-break. Although losing the first two set Thessalonikis team managed to win 3-2 (21-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-19, 15-5) Apostolos Armenakis and Ivan Borovnjak were the stars for Thessaloniki’s team.

Iraklis Thessalonikis wins Greek Volleyball cup


Iraklis was the winner of the final eight games for the Greek Cup in Syros. The other participant teams were Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, PAOK, Aris, Pamvohaikos, Finikas Syrou and Lamia.
In the final game Iraklis easily won Lamia 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-19). The MVP of the final-8 was Rolando Despaigne who scored 16 points in the final game. In this game also Pelekoudas and Kravarik were very effective. This was the 6th cup in Iraklis history.
Iraklis won the cup without losing a set. The most difficult game for Iraklis was the semi-final against Olympiakos on Friday but Sotiris Drikos players had great performance and defeated Olympaikos 3-0.

Iraklis managed to secure the first place


EAPatron made the surprise of the round by winning the hypnotized players of Olympiakos. Iraklis Thessalonikis stay on top while Panathinaikos need a miracle to stay in the Volleyleague for the next year.
Although he lost the first set Iraklis finally won 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22) Kifisia. Pelekoudas was the MVP of the game scoring 13 points having great efficiency.
Only in the game between EAPatron and Olympiakos there was a tie-break. Finally the home team of EAPatron won 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-27, 15-12) having Jurisic (19points), Aspiotis (16 points) and Vujovic (10 points) in a great day.  EAPatron players won in total 21 block points. EAPatron with those two points is close to stay in the Volleyleague for the next year. On the other hand Panathinaikos is complaining for Olympiakos mediocre and pathetic performance.
 
Pamvohaikos suffered on Saturday a home defeat 0-3 (14-25, 17-25, 20-25) to Finikas Syrou who grabbed the chance of Mark Dusharme absence. Dokic scoring 17 points and Thanos scoring 12 with 4 blocks were the best players of Finikas team.
Lamia defeated Ethnikos Alexandroupolis 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-17). The hosts started the game with real determination and focus. Peta Curovic scored 19 points for the home team.
Aris did not found difficulties to win 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 27-25 ) the local  battle against PAOK. Kiriakidis and Tzelati were the stars of the home team by scoring 19 points each.
