Παρελθόν από την τεχνική ηγεσίας της Εθνικής ομάδας των ανδρών είναι από το βράδυ της Τρίτης ο Κώστας Αρσενιάδης. Ο Έλληνας τεχνικός είχε συνάντηση με τον πρόεδρο της ΕΟΠΕ, Στέλιο Προσαλίκα, το Δημήτρη Καζάζη και το Γιώργο Βαβέτση.

Στη σύσκεψη αυτή φημολογείτεαι ότι υπήρξε διάσταση απόψεων μεταξύ του, πρώην πλέον, ομοσπονδιακού τεχνικού και του πρόεδρου της Ομοσπονδίας, με τον Κώστα Αρσενιάδη λίγες ώρες μετά να παραιτείται από την τεχνική ηγεσία του αντιπροσωπευτικού συγκροτήματος. Πιθανότερος αντικαταστάτης του αυτή τη στιγμή φέρεται ο, μέχρι πρότινος βοηθός του, Δημήτρης Καζάζης με συνεργάτες τους Καραβιδόπουλο και Δημητριάδη.

Με αφορμή και την ολοκλήρωση της ομάδας που θα εκπροσωπήσει το σύλλογο σε Ελλάδα και Ευρώπη για την αγωνιστική περίοδο 2009-10 το ΤΑΠ και ο ΓΣ Ηρακλής σας προσκαλούν στη συνέντευξη τύπου που θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Πέμπτη 16 Ιουλίου και ώρα 18.00 στην αίθουσα τροπαίων του Γυμναστικού Συλλόγου Ηρακλής (Κατσάνειο-Αγ.Δημητρίου 159Β). Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνέντευξης τύπου θα παρουσιαστούν επίσημα από τη διοίκηση τα νέα αποκτήματα της ομάδας Κώστας Προύσαλης και Λάμπης Μπαμπαλιούτας. Παράλληλα θα ανακοινωθούν και επίσημα τα ονόματα των αθλητών που θα στελεχώσουν το τμήμα βόλεϊ, όπως και οι τιμές των εισιτηρίων διαρκείας για τη νέα σεζόν. Επίσης θα γίνει η παρουσίαση του χορηγού ένδυσης αλλά και της νέας φανέλα του Ηρακλή.

Brazilian Women Upset Grand Slam Moscow 2009 Top Qualifying Seed

For the first-time this season on the 2009 women’s SWATCH FIVB World Tour, the top-seeded team was defeated in the Qualification Tournament as the US$600,000 Grand Slam Moscow 2009 continued here Tuesday with the second of seven days of competition at Poklonnaya Gora (Victory Park).

After winning a Brazilian Country Quota match Monday afternoon, 17th-seeded Vivian Cunha and Angela Vieira won a pair of matches Tuesday over tandems from Austria and Georgia to advance to Wednesday’s opening pool play rounds in the 32-team Main Draw at the Grand Slam Moscow 2009।

Vivian and Vieira, who failed in a qualifying attempt last week in Switzerland after also winning a Brazilian Country Quota match before being eliminated by a team from Australia, posted a 21-14 and 21-11 win in 32 minutes over top-seeded Cristine "Saka" Santanna and Andrezza "Rtvelo" Martins of Georgia.

The Grand Slam Moscow 2009 is Vivian and Vieira’s third appearance in a SWATCH qualifier this season as the pair also advanced to the “money” rounds in the 2009 FIVB season opener in Brazil where the pair placed 17th after being eliminated by compatriots Vanilda Leão and Renata Ribeiro. In Gstaad last week, Vivian and Vieira avenged that defeat with a Country Quota win over Leão and Renata.

With Russia having already placed three teams into the Main Draw due to entry points and a “wild card”, the host country earned a fourth berth when 19th-seeded Svetlana Popova and Natalya Uryadova upset 14th-seeded Imara Esteves Ribalta and Dalixia Fernandez Grasset of Cuba 24-22 and 28-26 in 55 minutes and third-seeded Marie-Andree Lessard and Annie Martin of Canada 21-13 and 21-13 in 34 minutes.

Prior to Tuesday’s results, Popova had never advanced from a SWATCH FIVB World Tour qualifier in five appearances last season with Anastasia Vasina. Uryadova competed in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games with Alexandra Shiryaeva as the pair posted Russia’s only SWATCH semi-final appearance at a 2006 stop in Warsaw. A week earlier at the 2006 European championships, Uryadova and Shiryaeva won the gold medal.

Russian pairs also competing Wednesday in the Main Draw are Vasina/Galina Boyko, Maria Bratkova/Evgenia Ukolova and Ekaterina Khomyakova/Anna Vozakova. Vasina and Boyko placed ninth last week at the Swiss Grand Slam for Russia’s best women’s finish on the SWATCH circuit. Bratkova and Ukolova have netted 13th-place finishes in Shanghai and Seoul in 2009.

Five of the top eight-seeded teams advanced from the qualifier by winning matches Tuesday, including second-seeded Daniela Gioria/Giulia Momoli of Italy, fourth-seeded Erika Nystrom/Emilia Nystrom of Finland, fifth-seeded Sara Montagnolli/Barbara Hansel of Austria, sixth-seeded Mayra Garcia/Bibiana Candelas of Mexico and seventh-seeded Okka Rau/Stephanie Pohl of Germany.

Making the biggest break-through Tuesday was Shinako Tanaka and Hiromi Suzuki as the 24th-seeded Japanese pair scored upset wins over teams Denmark and Australia. The Japanese advancement also marked the best finish by a lower seeded team as Fernandez Grasset and Esteves Ribalta were the 23rd-seeded qualifiers in Gstaad last week.

With the women’s Qualification Tournament for the Grand Slam Moscow 2009 determining the final eight teams for the Main Draw, the pool play matches will set the field for the 24-team elimination bracket where the opening matches will be played Thursday afternoon. The women’s semi-final and medal matches will be played Saturday as the winning team shares the $43,500 first-place prize.

The 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Tour features $7.39-million in prize money and continues through the fall with the men’s final event in China and the women’s last stop in Thailand. Following the series of Grand Slam events, the international circuit remains in Europe for stops in Poland, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands, Italy and Spain.

Γενική Συνέλευση της ΕΣΑΠ

Πραγματοποιήθηκε σήμερα στο Ολυμπιακό Κέντρο Αθηνών η ετήσια τακτική Γενική Συνέλευση της ΕΣΑΠ κατά τη διάρκεια της οποίας εγκρίθηκε παμψηφεί ο οικονομικός και διοικητικός απολογισμός για την περίοδο 01/07/2008 - 30/06/2009.
Ακολούθως πραγματοποιήθηκε η 39^η συνεδρίαση του Διοικητικού συμβουλίου της Ένωσης όπου:

-Εγκρίθηκε η προκήρυξη για το πρωτάθλημα Βόλεϊ Α1 ΟΠΑΠ 2009-2010.

-Συζητήθηκαν διάφορα οικονομικά θέματα καθώς και θέματα διαιτησίας.

-Συζητήθηκε ο κανονισμός σχέσεων ΤΑΑ - Αθλητών και έγινε ενημέρωση από το προεδρείο για επαφές που έχουν γίνει με τον ΠΑΣΑΠ.

-Συζητήθηκε η καθιέρωση ειδικών όρων συμμετοχής τουλάχιστον της μιας ομάδας από τις νέες ομάδες που θα συμμετάσχει στο πρωτάθλημα 2011-2012 με βάση συγκεκριμένα κριτήρια εκτός της θέσης κατάταξης. Τα κριτήρια αυτά θα αφορούν τη γεωγραφική προέλευση της ομάδας, την υποστήριξη από την τοπική κοινωνία, την ύπαρξη άλλων επαγγελματικών ομάδων στην ίδια πόλη, τις υποδομές διαμονής και υγείας κ.α. Η εφαρμογή των κριτηρίων αυτών θα ξεκινήσει από την περίοδο 2011-2012, αφού πρέπει αφενός μεν να οριστούν με κάθε λεπτομέρεια και να συμπεριληφθούν στις προκηρύξεις της μεθεπόμενης περιόδου (2010-2011)

-Αποφασίστηκε ότι το All Star Game 2009 καθώς και η παρουσίαση του πρωταθλήματος Βόλεϊ Α1 ΟΠΑΠ 2009-2010 θα πραγματοποιηθούν τη Δευτέρα 28 Σεπτεμβρίου. Ο χώρος διεξαγωγής των δύο εκδηλώσεων θα ανακοινωθεί τις επόμενες ημέρες.

-Αύριο το απόγευμα αντιπροσωπεία της ΕΣΑΠ θα συναντηθεί στα γραφεία της ΕΠΕΣΘ στην Θεσσαλονίκη με αντιπροσωπεία του ΣΕΠΠΕ.

Στο Μαυροβούνιο η Εθνική εφήβων

Το πρωί της Τρίτης αναχωρεί η Εθνική εφήβων από τη Θεσσαλονίκη, έδρα της προετοιμασίας της τις τελευταίες τρεις εβδομάδες εν όψει του Παγκοσμίου Πρωταθλήματος, με προορισμό το Μαυροβούνιο, όπου θα διεξαχθεί το Βαλκανικό Πρωτάθλημα (15-19/07).
Το αντιπροσωπευτικό μας συγκρότημα αντιμετωπίζει προβλήματα τραυματισμών, με τελευταίο τον Παναγιώτη Πελεκούδα, ο οποίος δε θα ακολουθήσει την αποστολή στην πόλη Ντανίλοβγκραντ.
«Βλέπουμε καθαρά το τουρνουά ως προετοιμασία για το Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα της Ινδίας και αυτό γιατί δεν έχουμε άλλη επιλογή λόγω των προβλημάτων μας», τονίζει ο ομοσπονδιακός προπονητής, Γιώργος Καραβιδόπουλος και προσθέτει: «Ο Πελεκούδας έχει πρόβλημα στο γαστροκνήμιο και θα μείνει στη Θεσσαλονίκη για αποθεραπεία, ενώ ο Τζούριτς και ο Φράγκος δεν είναι ακόμα έτοιμοι. Οι καλύτεροι παίκτες μας θα μπουν αναγκαστικά σε ρυθμό αγώνων κατά τη διάρκεια του τουρνουά. Αυτό βέβαια δε σημαίνει ότι δεν πηγαίνουμε με στόχους στο Βαλκανικό, ειδικά μετά την περσινή επιτυχία (2η θέση)». Μετά την επιστροφή της από το Μαυροβούνιο, η Εθνική θα συνεχίσει τις προπονήσεις της στο κλειστό της Παιανίας, όπου θα πραγματοποιήσει το τελευταίο στάδιο της προετοιμασίας της πριν αναχωρήσει για το Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα (31/07-09/08).

BEACH VOLLEY - Σταμάτησε η Κουτρουμανίδου!

Η Θάλεια Κουτρουμανίδου ανακοίνωσε το μεσημέρι στους Στέλιο Προσαλίκα/Γιώργο Κογκαλίδη την οριστική απόφαση της να σταματήσει το μπιτς βόλεϊ, επειδή δεν υπάρχει συμπαίκτρια για να κάνει μαζί της αξιόλογο δίδυμο στο παγκόσμιο σιρκουί.
Η Κουτρουμανίδου είναι μόλις 27 χρονών και έχει κατακτήσει δυο φορές την 9η θέση στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες της Αθήνας(με την Αρβανίτη) και του Πεκίνου(με την Τσιαρτσιάνη), είναι δις πρωταθλήτρια Ελλάδας και οι κορυφαίες διακρίσεις της στο εξωτερικό είναι η 1η θέση στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα(2004 με την Αρβανίτη) και 2η θέση στο Παγκόσμιο στο Εσπίνιο(2005 με Τσιαρτσιάνη).
Ο Κουτρουμανίδου εξήγησε στο volleyball.gr τους λόγους της αποχώρησης της "Όταν έχεις φτάσει στην κορυφή, έχεις πετύχει ύψιστες διακρίσεις και μετά χωρίς λόγο και αιτία πληγώνεσαι και πικραίνεσαι φτάνεις στα όρια σου. Τα ψυχικά αποθέματα και η υπομονή σου εξαντλούνται" .
-Ποιός είναι ο βασικότερος λόγος της απόφασης σου;
"Το γεγονός ότι δεν υπάρχει αξιόλογη συμπαίκτρια να παίξω στο παγκόσμιο σιρκουί. Δεν φταίνε βέβαια οι Παπαδοπούλου, Αργυροπούλου, αλλά ότι δεν γινόταν τόσα χρόνια δουλειά στις υποδομές. Κοίταζαν τη βιτρίνα και τίποτα άλλο. Κάποτε θα σταματούσε η Βάσω Καραντάσιου και έπρεπε να αντιμετωπίσουν το πρόβλημα. Έπρεπε το προπονητικό τιμ και η διοίκηση να έχουν έτοιμες τουλάχιστον δέκα κοπέλες για να φτιαχτούν νέες ομάδες μετά τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Πεκίνου. Δεν υπάρχει όμως τίποτα πίσω από τις Καραντάσιου, Τσιαρτσιάνη, Αρβανίτη, Κουτρουμανίδου. Δοκίμασα όλες τις δυνατές λύσεις επί ένα εξάμηνo και όταν βρίσκεται από το ρετιρέ του παγκοσμίου σιρκουί στο υπόγειο και δεν υπάρχει ασανσέρ να ανέβεις, σηκώνεσαι και φεύγεις. Δεν είμαι 22 χρονών να πάρω το ρίσκο και να δοκιμάζω διάφορες αμφιβόλου αποτελέσματος λύσεις. Με πίκρανε και το γεγονός ότι έμαθα τελευταία τις αλλαγές στις Εθνικές ομάδες. Ως την τελευταία στιγμή ήξερα ότι θα συνεχίσω με την Τσιαρτσιάνη. Όταν έμαθα ότι θα παίξουν Αρβανίτη-Τσιαρτσιάνη έπαθα σοκ και στεναχωρήθηκα γιατί δεν μου άξιζε τέτοια αντιμετώπιση " .
-Τι θα κάνεις στο μέλλον;
"Από την υπάρχουσα διοίκηση δεν έχω παράπονο. Τόσο ο κύριος Προσαλίκας, όσο και ο κύριος Κογκαλίδης προσπάθησαν να με βοηθήσουν, αλλά το πρόβλημα προυπήρχε, δεν το δημιούργησαν αυτοί. Μου υποσχέθηκαν ότι θα ξαναμιλήσουμε τον Σεπτέμβριο και μπορώ να προσφέρω από άλλο πόστο στο μπιτς βόλει. Είτε διοικητικό, είτε προπονητικό. Προς το παρόν συνεχίζω τις σπουδές μου στην Οδοντιατρική, την οποία παράτησα στο τρίτο έτος για τον αθλητισμό".

Serbia wins first CEV Women’s European League title

In front of more than 8’000 fans, Serbia claimed the gold medal of the first CEV Women’s European League after a great comeback against host Turkey. Losing the first two sets, the Serbian team was close to a defeat, but didn’t give up and finally won the tiebreak in extremis (17-15) Sunday at Kadir Has Sports Hall in Kayseri. Bulgaria claimed bronze with a straight-set victory over France.




In presence of CEV President André Meyer, Turkish Volleyball Federation President Erol Ünal Karabiyik and more than 8’000 vocal Turkish volleyball fans, Serbia won the first CEV Women’s European League title, beating Turkey 3:2 (32-34, 17-25, 25-20, 25-23, 17-15) at Kayseri’s Kadir Has Sports Hall on Sunday afternoon. Serbia started very confidently against Turkey, who struggled on serve reception and were unable to get their attack working smoothly in the very beginning of this final encounter. Serbian Nadja Ninkovic quickly added two block kills to her personal account। The noisy home crowd tried to cheer up the Turks, who recovered promptly to take a first lead at 10-9. Alexandra Petrovic scored a service ace to turn around the score again for Serbia, 13-11. It was a great volleyball show Sunday afternoon when both teams showed their best, moving the scoreboard from 20-20 to 32-32 (!). Esra hammered one over to give Turkey another set point, and when Neslihan concluded a counter attack one rally later from back row, the 8’000 fans felt like heaven, 34-32 Turkey!


However, the Serbians kept their motivation high, leading the first technical timeout of the second set 8-7. Neslihan maintained her good form as the set progressed, and Esra fired wild to keep the Turks on the pace, 16-14 Turkey at the second technical timeout. Three perfectly-timed Eda blocks in a row (!) carried the Turks to a five-point cushion, 19-14. The set was over as a contest now, and the Serbians couldn’t find any solution against the Turkish dominance। Serbian Malesevic served wide to offer the hosts a first set ball, and when Ninkovic missed the court some moments later, Turkey led 2:0.


When play resumed, Malesevic punched home a well-worked winner as the Serbians tried to step up the pace, but Turkish captain Esra Gümüs responded with some powerful spiking through the Serbian block। However, the young Serbian talents now found the better strategy, leading 16-13 at the second technical timeout. On the other hand, the Turks suddenly lost the momentum, and when Eda sent it wide at 20-23, Serbia had its first set point. Ninkovic ended it with another block, 25-20 Serbia.


The Serbians kept the upper hand in set No। 4 as they jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. They set the pace with some well-timed combinations as well as a perfectly organized defense. But a 16-9 lead was not enough. Turkish head coach Alessandro Chiappini brought in young setter Aydemir Naz for Pelin Celik, and when Most Valuable Player awarded Neslihan scored from back-row, the Turks were back at 21-22. But Serbian Andjelka Pantovic kept cool, bringing up the first Serbian set point, and, some moments later, closed it out with a burning winner from the right, 2-2.


After an early 4-0 lead for the Serbians, the teams went head to head at the start of the tiebreak through to 5-5, with Neslihan prominent for Turkey. Serbia turned round 8-5 ahead after two counter-attacks, but Turkey pulled back to 8-8, and then to 10-10. Three points later, Pantovic ended a wonderful rally for 12-11 Serbia, only for Turkey to draw level again. Both teams went again point for point with two Turkish match points at 14-13 and 15-14, before the young Serbians turned around the score with two magnificent Petrovic blocks, 17-15 and the first CEV Women’s European League title for Serbia!



“A Serbian team never gives up”, said Serbian captain Aleksandra Petrovic. “We believed in our chances and finally won, it’s a great feeling for our young team.” And Serbian head coach Zoran Kovacic added: “It was a fantastic game; there were fantastic fans and there was a fantastic Serbian team. We proved than even with a very young team we can beat big teams like Turkey. I’m very happy.”


Turkish head coach Alessandro Chiappini was “very sorry for the fans। They did a great job, but my team was not able to play our best volleyball during the whole match. The coordination between serve and block didn’t work. Furthermore, we should learn to play as a team instead of waiting for Neslihan’s points. We’ll have a lot of work to do within the next days and weeks.”


Bulgaria claimed the bronze medal with a straight-set victory over France। Even when the French team tried to react after yesterday’s inexplicable blackout during the first two sets against Serbia, Bulgaria was the better team. Especially on the net, the East Europeans showed their class to the delight of the over 3’500 volleyball fans in the Kadir Has Sports Hall in Kayseri. After two hard-fought sets (25-23, 25-23), the Bulgarians seemed to control the game in the third set (22-18). But France bounced back strongly with Christina Bauer on duty. As both teams took high risks on serving, their reception often lacked of precision. Bulgarian Eva Yaneva brought up match at 25-24 with a blistering winner from the left, before she finished it in Bulgaria’s favor with another missile through the French block. Bulgarian Radostina Chitigoi was the best scorer of the match with 14 points.
