Tunisia. The Europeans not dropped a single set in the first round and
topped the Pool in a great display, while Tunisia remained on the bottom
of the group.

In a first set very even, Greece held a slim lead throughout the chapter to finally earn it by 25-22. The first technical timeout was 8-7 for Greece, but Tunisia went on with the struggle to take the second one by 16-15. After the rest, Koumentakis raised the bar for Greece, well assisted by setter Michail Liontas. Kasandros Stingas hammered down the middle to close the set.
Greece had no mercy with Tunisia in the second set right from the start. A comfortable lead of 8-2 widened to 16-6 for the second technical timeout. Tunisia fell on his knees against Tzioumakas' spikes (7) and shortly after a block by Dalakouras sealed the action by 25-10.
Tunisia regained the memory and fought closely on the next set, mostly guided by the heart of the captain Ousama Mrika, who entered the court. The Africans stepped ahead at both timeouts (8-5 and 16-15), but after that Greece broke the resistance with more of Koumentakis (6 points in the set) and Kokkinakis wrapped up the match with an ace by 25-20.
