Middle European League, BLED and MARIBOR stretch their respective winning streaks

Slovenia’s ACH Volley BLED stays unbeaten in the Middle European League after cruising past KAPOSVAR Röplabda SE of Hungary 3:0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-20) for the fourth win in a row since the start of that campaign. In the women’s division Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR stretched its perfect record as well with a 3:0 (27-25, 25-6, 25-17) win against ZOK RIJEKA of Croatia.
The hotVolleys VIENNA succumbed to Salonit Anhovo KANAL of Slovenia on Friday 0:3 (26-28, 25-27, 14-25) in front of their home crowd. It was a wasted opportunity said hotVolleys mentor Peter Kleinmann: “The players should have to pay the club some money back after such a terrible performance”.

The girls of Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR defended their perfect record with a 3:0 victory against ŽOK RIJEKA on Friday. The Slovenians are on top of the table with likewise unbeaten VK Modřanská PROSTEJOV of the Czech Republic. Another Slovenian team, Calcit KAMNIK, had no problems to defeat A. LINZ-STEG of Austria 3:0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-14) on Saturday. On the other hand, ATSC Wildcats Sparkasse KLAGENFURT suffered a 0:3 loss (13-25, 14-25, 17-25) in the Austrian derby against Post SCHWECHAT.
