Bulgaria and Serbia, i.e. the silver and bronze medalists from last year’s CEV Junior European Championship, are on a good track to claim a spot to represent Europe at the 2011 FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship scheduled for early August in Brazil. Bulgaria impressed this afternoon in Sofia with a terrific show of strength to outclass Denmark while Serbia also needed only three sets in Mogilev to cruise past the young boys from Latvia. Spain is also on a good way to make it to Rio de Janeiro after the group around Francisco José Ruiz shut Portugal in straight sets this afternoon to maintain the leadership of Pool C with only one round of play still to go. In Spergau the hosts of Germany went through a long and exhausting five setter to have the upper hand against Estonia while Italy overpowered Greece with a 3:0 to get the right confidence for the next games coming up this weekend.
