This afternoon the local organizers of the home matches that Greece’s national teams will play this weekend in Pyrgos with Spain organized a press conference in the local Town Hall to discuss and share some feelings with the media. “We have decided to play here in Pyrgos and bring here the national teams for the first time because this city has an excellent gym” stated Costas Vlassis, member of the Board of Administration of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation. “However, we will also need quite many fans to achieve our goal of a memorable Volleyball weekend” he added.
“Although they play a much different Volleyball, Spain is equivalent to our last opponent, the Netherlands” says the head coach of the men’s team, Alekos Leonis. “We hope to go for a couple of good performances and wins here in Pyrgos”. “Even though we know that they are a very good team, we want to defeat the Spaniards” continues captain Nikolaos Roumeliotis. “We will show our strength, passion and fighting spirit”.
“We want to see many fans in the hall” adds the mentor of Greece’s women’s national team, Dimitris Floros. “Our team is improving set after set”. “Our group has been gradually improving and we hope to combine here good performances with positive results” stresses captain Nikoletta Koutouxidou.
