Nicosia, Cyprus, June 9, 2009. The hosts Cyprus clinched this past weekend both the men’s and women’s Volleyball competitions in the 13th Games of the Small States of Europe. Cyprus topped the Volleyball tournament for men with Andorra second and Iceland seizing the bronze medal; the hosts were not to stop also in the women’s tournament, with San Marino ending up in second place and Iceland taking home another bronze medal.
In Beach Volleyball events, Cyprus won both golds as well, beating 2-0 San Marino in the men’s final, the bronze going to Andorra; with another 2-0 the hosts snatched an additional gold in the women’s final against Monaco, whereas the bronze medals went there to Luxembourg.
